The sheer incoherence of it all is a form of amnesia, like being trapped in a burning temple wearing a pair of shorts and suspenders and performing a traditional folk dance, thinking 'Help me! Save me! Catalog me! Look me up in books to find out who I am, what I've done...' (The Decline of Spengler)
